November is Financial Literacy Month!

November 1, 2013

At the Women’s Centre we re-launched our Financial Literacy Program in August.   Feedback from clients has been very positive and the demand is growing as word filters through our fabulous York Region Community.

Our goal is to improve financial education of women in York Region and to empower women with the knowledge and skills to approach financial matters with confidence.  The group setting is a safe, non threatening, non judgmental environment and our program facilitator  covers topics such as Budgeting, Debt Management, Credit, Savings, Coping with Financial Stress but to name a few.    Our program provides clients with the opportunity to meet one-on-one with our coordinator, or other financial experts which we collaborate with, for more specific issues they want to discuss.  Peer support and one-on-one meetings support women through the emotional as well as practical side to changing the path of their financial journey.

Join us during Financial Literacy Month for two of our Financial Literacy workshops and if you are free November 14th feel welcome to drop in to our Peer Support Coffee Night here at the centre.  It will start at 6:30 to 8:30, give Fran a call to register at 905.853.9270 x 104.

CELEBRATE FINANCIAL LITERACY MONTH
